Knowledge Networks / SRI Announces Study

NEW YORK, January 23 /PRNewswire/ - New York City based Ambassador Yellow Pages, founded in 1999, is number two in all New York City marketplaces except one, according to Knowledge Networks / SRI, a company dedicated to media audience measurement, with over 20 years experience in tracking nationwide yellow page usage.

The study by Knowledge Networks / SRI bodes particularly well for Ambassador, owing to the way the market analysis was performed. Data was compiled by sampling a group of residents in each of the New York City markets via telephone questionnaire. The questionnaire requested the number of yellow page books in a household. These books could be 20 years old and still count in the study.

The fact that 20 year old books could be counted in the study goes to show that even with that advantage, we are besting the competition in a significant way. Based on this study it is clear that we are in the running to become the number one yellow pages in New York City,” said Hipple.

The study’s important for national and local advertisers alike. National advertisers must buy the number one and two books in a marketplace to achieve appropriate penetration. Local advertisers benefit, since strong national advertiser participation gives their own advertising efforts added credibility.
